The AXYL furniture collection for Allermuir launched at Somerset House during London Design Festival 2017 within an eight-metre-tall immersive installation.
The collection comprises two recycled aluminium Y frame legs which use just 5% of the energy required to create new aluminium. To celebrate this innovative element, hundreds of Y components were used to build two infinity towers mounted and capped by mirrored discs to create infinite reflections. This theme of “forever” was used to communicate the brand’s timeless design language and commitment to recycling.
LAYER designed an immersive installation to support the launch strategy for the Axyl collection. We secured a prime space at Somerset House, created detailed design drawings of the architectural structure, sourced manufacturers, and worked closely with a build team to bring the vision to life.
